FROM OUR PRINCIPAL Hello and welcome to San Augustine High School! As we get back to school, I want you to know that we are extremely invested in our students and their lives. Here, we recognize that each and every one of our students possess greatness within them. It is our task to help them reach their desired outcomes.
Our expectations for our students are high and through some challenges, our students have demonstrated that they can rise to the occasion. At the high school level, we want to ensure that our wolves are ACE’s: Accepted into a college: Certified for the workforce: or Enlisted in a military branch. To achieve this goal, we have added to our curriculum in an effort to better meet the needs of the individual student. We believe in putting the student first and creating a student-centered learning environment where students learn to own their learning and explore their interests.
This is a welcoming environment and we encourage the community to take part in the great things we have going on. Community members, this is your school too, and we want to see you engage. San Augustine High School believes in a family oriented setting and we recognize that it takes a village to raise our students.
Again, welcome to San Augustine High School. It is here that: “Every Student Counts. Every Moment Matters”
Our future health students are drawing blood as part of their certification and need volunteers to help them achieve this goal. This is open to the public. All participants are entered into a gift certificate drawing to the Kim Linh Salon! Please click on the headline for details on how you can volunteer!
This morning, Wednesday, April 10, we woke up to a posting on KLTV Channel 7 (ABC out of Tyler)) that indicated San Augustine ISD was closed today. It was not posted with the usual list of other districts, but rather was on a graphic all by itself. I am the only district employee who can cancel or delay school (and additional information is required to confirm my identity). In following up, the news station was contacted to determine how this got on their broadcast and they replied that they had technical difficulties this morning regarding the listing of school closing (and delays) information. With that being said, we want to avoid any confusion in the future so please click "Read Full Story" to view SAISD's 5-step standard response to a school closing or delay.
