All of us at SAISD are deeply saddened by the news of Mrs. Whittlesey's passing this morning. She was loved and respected by all those who knew her, and her students, past and present, will be profoundly touched by this tragedy. Born in 1940, she taught for 52 years at SAISD, 56 years in all, and the results of her outstanding teaching and her influence on her students will live on. Her students, in a real sense, are monuments and and testaments to Mrs. Whittlesey's life and dreams. We will all miss her dearly and our heartfelt and sincerest sympathy goes out to the Whittlesey family in this difficult time.
