SAISD - November Students of the Month

Elementary School:

The Pre-K Student of the Month for November was Michael Freeman.  Michael is the son of Shenneka Wilson Freeman and Michael Freeman, and he has three sisters. He is a great example of this month’s character trait which is Gratitude. He displays kindness and concern for all his classmates and teachers. His work is always done the best of his ability and returned on time. I can always count on Michael to behave and follow the rules. Michael would like to be a policeman when he grows up! He is in Mrs. Marjorie Boyer’s and Mrs. Jackie White’s class.

The Kindergarten Student of the Month for November was Adalynn Williams.  Adalynn was chosen for this honor because she shows gratitude and is a great role model for others. She is always eager to learn, she is polite, and she is always willing to help others. In her spare time, she enjoys playing on the computer. Adalynn is the daughter of Myesha Renfro. She is in Mrs. Rachel Beauchamp’s homeroom.

The 1st Grade Student of the Month for November was Hayden Ellerbe. Hayden is a smart, sweet, polite, hardworking, and considerate little fella. He works hard and keeps his grades up, and is a great role model for the other children. Hayden is the son of Chelsi Cartwright and Dustin Ellerbe. He is in Mrs. Jennifer Cecil’s homeroom.

The 2nd Grade Student of the Month for November was Gabriela Bennefield. Gabriela is better known to everyone as Gabby. Gabby is well behaved and a very nice person to all of her classmates. Gabby has an older sister and a younger sister. She likes to play outside with her sisters, and she would like to be a doctor when she gets older. Gabby is the daughter of Bonnie and Jacob Townes.  Gabby is in Ms. Carol Alford’s class.

The 3rd Grade Student of the Month for November was David Niniz Fabian. David is a CHAMP in every way, and every day sets an example for how to behave in the classroom and common areas. He excells academically and always pays attention during instruction. He expresses his gratitude in a quiet way by being an exemplary student. David is the son of Maria Fabian Guererro and Guillermo Niniz Mondragon, and he is in Mrs. Susan McDaniel’s homeroom.

The 4th Grade Student of the Month for November was Giovanny Cortes-Covarrubias. Giovanny is a kind and resourceful young man. He displays gratitude with his manners and character each day. He is always eager to learn and help others. In his spare time, he likes to play outside. When he grows up he would like to be a police officer because he thinks they are cool. Giovanny is the son of Claudia Covarrubias and Ismael Cortes. His teachers are Terra White, Reva Davis, and Jennifer Morton.

The 5th Grade Student of the Month for November was Larissa Lacy. Larissa was nominated for this honor by her classmates. Larissa is a wonderful student who always does what she is asked to do and does her work, and is very well behaved. Larissa is the daughter of LaKeysha Jones.

Middle School:

The 6th Grade Student of the Month for November was Joshua Amburn. Joshua is a diligent worker who does a great job at staying on task, turning in his work on time,and participating in class discussions. He is respectful of both adults and his peers; he does not talk negatively to or about anyone. In Josh’s free time, he enjoys spending time outside, gaming, playing football, and playing his trombone. Josh would like to be a football player when he gets older. His favorite subject is science and his favorite teacher is Ms. Spencer because she is nice. Joshua is the son of Joshua Amburn and Brittany Amburn.

The 7th Grade Student of the Month for November was Blessed Garrett. Our choice in nominating Blessed Garrett derived from watching her dominate the 7th grade Curriculum in all subjects all while being a virtual student. We are definitely in different times this year and she faced the challenge with grit and determination to be successful in her school work. Her favorite subject is History and her favorite teacher is Coach Cotton because he makes understanding history easier and he also has a great personality. Blessed enjoys running, reading books, skating and bowling in her free time. Blessed plans to become an entrepreneur or a pediatric nurse after graduating from high school and college. Blessed is the daughter of Demeko and Chudney Garrett

The 8th Grade Student of the Month for November was Jaime Mendoza-Moreno. Jaime Miguel Mendoza-Moreno is an honest student who takes his classwork seriously. He is never absent and always treats adults and his peers with respect. Miguel’s favorite subject is Science. His interests include reading books and playing video games. He likes to play "Breath of the Wild" and "Minecraft." Miguel also plays soccer and he attends church. After graduating high school, he plans to attend college, although he is not sure where he wants to go yet. He aspires to be a video game creator. Miguel is the son of Jaime and Maria Mendoza.

High School:

The 9th Grade Student of the Month for November was Sha’Kiedra Moody. Sha’Kiedra is a positive role model and leader for the freshman class. She is compassionate and dedicated to all her work and to all those who are lucky to call her friend. She loves spending time with her family and friends. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, running, dancing and most of all helping others. Her favorite classes are art, English, and biology. Her favorite teacher is Coach Marcus because he encourages her to go harder even though there are times she wants to stop. She is involved in volleyball, basketball and track. Sha’Kiedra plans to continue her education at Sam Houston State University to become a doctor. Sha’Kiedra is the daughter of She’Ketia Tanner and Anthony Moody.

The 10th Grade Student of the Month for November was Joana Castro. Joana comes to class prepared every single day and has a strong desire to learn new material.  She participates in class discussion and when she doesn't understand the material, she seeks help outside of class. Joana’s favorite subject is culinary, because she loves to cook and bake. Her favorite teachers are Mrs. Alicia Mathews and Mr. Marcus Porter. In Joanna’s free time she enjoys playing tennis with her sister. Joana is also an active member of the Interact Club.  After graduation Joana wants to go to college and become a physical therapist assistant. Joana is the daughter of Teresita Gallardo and Fransisco Castro.

 

The 11th Grade Student of the Month for November was Charlisa Teagle. Charlisa is friendly to everybody and a great student, as well as a fierce competitor.  She represents our school well, no matter what she endeavors to do. Charlisa enjoys running cross country, track and speaking to everyone in the hallways. Her hobbies are playing piano and babysitting. Her favorite subject is English and her favorite teacher is Coach Perry because he is always in a good mood and never leaves her fist bump hanging! She is currently part of the cross country team, UIL, track team, and student council. After graduating Charlisa hopes to pursue her running career while attending college to become a psychiatrist to help others with their mental well-being. Charlisa is the daughter of I.D. Teagle and Renee Porter. 

 

The 12th Grade Student of the Month for November was Kevorian Barnes. Kevorian’s favorite subject is Pre-Calculus and his favorite teacher is Ms. Shelby McNamara because she always pushes him to do his best. Kevorian is always nice to his peers and his teachers. Kevorian loves to play sports. In his free time, he also enjoys riding horses and gaming. Kevorian is involved in football, powerlifting, track, a STUCO member and President of the Interact Club. Kevorian is also the SAHS 20-21 Homecoming King. After graduating high school Kevorian will be attending the University of Texas at San Antonio for a General Business degree while playing football. Kevorian is the son of Latasha and Kevon Barnes.
