The Pre-K Student of the Month for December is Larissa Lacy. Larissa is the daughter of LaKesha Jones and Jamie Polk, Sr. Larissa started the year shy and unsure, now 18 weeks in, she is not shy and more eager to try the unknown. She is a hard worker, and loves to help others when she can. She is a 2ft. 9 in. little feisty pack of dynamite. She is a blessing to her classmates as well as her teachers Mrs. Wood, and Ms. Rhonda.
The Kindergarten Student of the Month for December is Juan Silva Palacios. Juan is the 5 year old (soon to be six) son of Manola Silva and Maria Palacios. Juan is an excellent student. He works very hard and follows the rules. He always does what he is asked, listens during class, and does his work all on his own. He is very respectful to others. Juan sets an excellent example for the other students. He always has a smiling face when he comes to school. Mrs. Parker says that Juan is a blessing, and that she is honored to have him in her class, and she knows he will be successful in the years to come.
The 1st grade Student of the Month for December is Alivia Hinson. Alivia is the daughter of Whitney Hinson and Norman Payne. Alivia is a very hard worker, and puts all her efforts in doing a job well. She is a great role model, who is very determined, friendly, and respectful, and is always willing to help others. Her favorite part of the day is reading, and in her spare time she enjoys playing outside. She is a joy and a delight to have in class says Ms. Lout.
The 2nd grade Student of the Month for December is Taylor Johnson. Taylor is the daughter of LaTashia Cotton and Chris Johnson. Taylor is an awesome student, she works hard in all of her subjects. Taylor is very sweet, and respectful, and is always willing to help others. Taylor’s favorite subject is Math, and in her spare time she enjoys playing games on the Disney Channel. Taylor is in Mrs. Tiffany LoZoya’s class.
The 3rd grade Student of the Month for December is Katelyn Garsee. Katelyn is the daughter of Shanna and Jason Garsee. Katelyn is a hard working student, who is well behaved, very respectful, and is a friend to everyone. Her favorite subject in school is Math, and in her spare time she enjoys playing with her dogs and doing her homework. Katelyn is in Miss Jessica Fuller's class.
The 4th grade Student of the Month for December is Elisa Rodriquez Yanez. Elisa is the daughter of Juan Rodriquez and Martha Yanez. Elisa is a great student. She is a hard working student, who always shows respect to her teachers and classmates. Her favorite subject in school is Math, and in her spare time she enjoys riding her bike and playing outside. Elisa is in Mrs. Fitzpatrick's class.
The 5th grade Student of the Month for December is Jacorius Price. Jacorius is the son of Jodi and Valencia Price. Jacorius was selected for this honor because of his continuous courtesy manner. He is often observed opening doors for others, helping out his fellow class mates, and is always respectful to his teachers and peers. He is a very hard working student who has many gifts. He is a very talented pianist, and serves as the pianist at his church. Jacorius said that his favorite subject in school is math, and in his spare time he enjoys playing his games. Jacorius is in Mrs. Lisa Henly’s class.

Middle School
The 6th grade Student of the Month for December is Tyranequa Johnson. Tyranequa is the daughter of Eric and Miranda Walker and sister to Tyrandis, Keonte, Karvan and NeNe. She says her favorite subject is Math and her favorite teacher is Ms. Thornton because she is fun and helps her understand the work. Tyranequa enjoys arts and crafts, praise dancing, and playing volleyball and basketball. When she finishes high school she plans to go to college and study to become a math teacher.
The 7th grade Student of the Month for December is Reco Burrell. Reco is the son of Jowanna Burrell and sister to Lauryn. He says his favorite subject is health and his favorite teacher is Mrs. Whittlesey because she is a good writing teacher and has been for a lot of years. Reco is very talented in math and can come up with answers in strange ways and he is also athletic. He plans to go to LSU and play basketball and then hopefully one day become a NBA player.
The 8th grade Student of the Month for December is Jose Palacios Silva. Jose is the son of Manola Silva and Maria Palacios and brother to Juan. His favorite subject is history and his favorite teacher is Mr. Rod McLerran. Jose plans to go to college to become a doctor or a computer engineer. He enjoys playing soccer during his free time.

High School
The 9th grade Student of the Month for December is Kierra Houston. Kierra is the daughter of Michelle Houston and Anthony Thomas. Her favorite subject is Math. Kierra plans to attend the University of Houston and study music. She enjoys singing, cheering and is also very athletic. She is a member of the SAHS Student Council. Kierra would like to thank her teachers for teaching her everything that she needs to learn. She would also like to thank them for motivating her to become a better student and to express her knowledge.
The 10th grade Student of the Month is Carlos Johnson. Carlos is the son of Latressa Johnson and Carlos Johnson, Sr. His favorite subject is Pre-Ap Chemistry. Carlos plans to attend Panola Jr. College or Stephen F. Austin and study in the medical field. He is a very talented musician and can play the baritone, alto, and tenor sax. He serves as the historian for the SAHS Student Council and the Chaplin for the SAHS Band. He is involved in the Math Club, Soccer Club, Interact, Student Council and Band. Carlos would like to thank his teachers for being good role models for him.
The 11th grade Student of the Month for December is Mark Moreno. Mark is the son of Nazatia and Aurelio Moreno. His favorite subject is Science. Mark plans to attend the University of Texas and study to become a computer engineer. He is a very talented runner and advanced to the Cross County State Meet this year. Mark is the president of the Math Club and vice president of the SAHS FFA. His is involved in FFA, UIL, Student Council, track and Math Club. Mark would like to thank his teachers for teaching him.
The 12th grade Student of the Month for December is Kyndle Hewett. Kyndle is the son of Wylma Hewett. His favorite subject is Math. Kyndle plans to attend the University of Houston and study Computer Technology. He is very friendly and never meets a stranger. Kyndle was crowned as the SAHS Homecoming King this year. He is involved in FFA. Kyndle would like to thank his teachers for their hard work. He says he loves every member of Team Kyndle, especially Mrs. Wilma Brooks.
