Elementary School:
The Pre-K Student of the Month for April is Brookline Barnes. Brookline began preschool at three years old this year. Although she is younger than her classmates, she can legibly write her first and last name. Not only can she write, she recognizes every letter upper and lowercase, she knows all her letter sounds and at least fifty sight words. She can even decode words and read short books. In math, Brookline also excels. She counts to 100, and even counts to 100 by 5’s and by 10’s. She recognizes numerals 1-30; and can identify complex shapes such as rhombus, octagon, hexagon, and pentagon. She also can add simple addition. Brookline is an ideal student. She gets along well with all of her classmates and enjoys helping others. She enjoys sports and outside activities, reading, and playing with her baby dolls. She also is active at Roberts Baptist Church where she does praise dancing. Brookline is the daughter of Tory and Jacqueline Barnes, and the granddaughter of Julius and Mary Teagle and Dennis and Chequitha Barnes. Brookline is in Mrs. Lisa Crouch's homeroom.
The Kindergarten Student of the Month for Apirl is Nevaeh Bluford. Nevaeh is in Mrs. Mary Merritt’s homeroom, and this is what she had to say…. “It is my honor to select Nevaeh as my Student of the Month. She was chosen because she has worked very hard and has made so many great improvements. I am so very proud of her and all her hard work. Nevaeh is always kind and wants to help out whenever she can. Her favorite subjects are reading and math. In her spare time, she loves to bake and play with her little sister Kaylee. Nevaeh is a wonderful student to have!” She is the daughter of Chassidy Maxie and the granddaughter of Esther Jenkins and Stanley Reed.
The First Grade Student of the Month for April is Gabriela Lazo. Gabriela is the daughter of Edgar Lazo and Maritza Vasquez, and the granddaughter of Humberto and Paula Lazo. Her favorite subject in school is Reading, and in her spare time she enjoys watching TV and playing games. When she grows up she wants to be a teacher. Gabriela is in Mrs. Melba Pahal’s homeroom.
The Second Grade Student of the Month for April is A’nesiya Burrell. A’nesiya is the daughter of Patrick and Emily Jackson and Robert Burrell. She is the granddaughter of Vertina Price and Emma Watts. She is a very sweet and smart girl, who always likes to help others. Her favorite subject is math and in her spare time she enjoys reading, playing teacher, and playing outside. A’nesiya is in Mrs. Tiffany Lozoya's class.
The Third Grade Student of the Month for April is Tamara Milbourne. Tamara is kind, sweet and beautiful, and is also the reigning Miss Merry Christmas Princess. She works very hard and obeys the school rules. She is a wonderful student- the student all teachers desire, but I am the lucky one. She enters the room every morning with a smile and leaves in the same manner. Her favorite foods are broccoli, mac and cheese, green beans, nachos, cake, and cookies. Her favorite subjects are math and reading, and in her spare time she enjoys playing with her brother and her animals. When she grows up she wants to be a teacher. Tamara is the daughter of Larry and Jennifer Ritchie and the granddaughter of Rebecca White and Roy Davis. Tamara is in Mrs. Willie Faye Garrett’s homeroom.
The Fourth Grade Student of the Month for April is Stadriana Watts. Stadriana is the daughter of Stacy and Melanie Watts and the granddaughter of Ira Joe and Lola Miller. Stadriana is a smart girl that follows her dream, and gets her work done. She shows many leadership qualities, including having great grades! Her favorite subject is Reading. In her spare time she enjoys dancing, singing, swimming, jumping on her trampoline and reading. Stadriana is in Mrs. Mary Harris's homeroom.
The Fifth Grade Student of the Month for April is Jaxon Hagler. His favorite subject is Science. In his spare time he enjoys hanging out with his dad and watching or playing sports. Jaxon is the son of Joseph and Sherri Hagler and the grandson of Lamar and Julia Hagler and Jerry and Cynthia Wiggins. Jaxon is in Mrs. Jeri Meredith's homeroom.

Middle School:
The Sixth Grade Student of the Month for April is Ardriah Mosby. Ardriah is the daughter of Pastor Ardis and Jeaneyse Mosby and sister to Ardtrenda, Brent, and Fred. Her favorite subject is math and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Whittlesey because she teaches in depth. Ardriah is a very talented gymnast and has a special way with kids. She plans to attend Harvard and study law when she graduates from high school. When asked what she would want everyone to know about her, Ardriah replied, "I'm very outgoing, will speak my mind, and will try new things!"
The Seventh Grade Student of the Month for April is Mariah Garrett. Mariah is the daughter of Chudney and Demeko Garrett and sister to Amanda, Zavonte, Jasmine, Victoria, Blessed and Briahna. Her favorite subject is science and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Whittlesey because she not only loves what she does, but she cares about others and their hardships. Mariah is a very talented dancer and is a part of a dance group called The Chosen Vessels. She plans to go to college and live in Houston when she graduates from high school. When asked what she would want everyone to know about her, Mariah replied, "I would like everyone to know that whatever I do, I give it my all. I love the people I am surrounded by, I love myself, and I will always love and trust Jesus!"
The Eighth Grade Student of the Month for April is Santiago Prado. Santiago is the son of Alejandra and Santiago Prado and brother to Milagros, Diego, and Daniel. His favorite subject is science and his favorite teacher is Mr. Jackson because he helps with math. Diego enjoys playing the clarinet and chess. He plans to go to a good college and get a job when he finishes high school. When asked what he would want everyone to know about him, Santiago replied, "I am a helpful person!"

High School:
The Ninth Grade Student of the Month for April is Angel Eufracio. Angel is the son of Beatriz Eufracio. His favorite subject is World Geography. Angel plans to attend Texas A&M University and study computer science. He enjoys playing baseball and is also a talented piano player. Angel is the Vice President of the Math Club and the Keeper of Records of the SAHS Gentlemen's League. He is also involved in Student Council and Interact Club. When asked what he would like to say to his teachers, Angel replied, "I enjoy all of your classes and appreciate all of your hard work!"
The Tenth Grade Student of the Month for April is Quintorria Bell. Quintorria is the daughter of LaQuinta Anders and Marcus Bell. Her favorite subject is English. Quintorria plans to attend the University of Texas at Arlington and get a master's degree in business administration. She loves to play volleyball and jump hurdles. Quintorria is a member of DECA and FCCLA. When asked what she would like to say to her teachers, Quintorria replied, "I appreciate all of the things you have done for me and without you, I wouldn't be the person I am today. I truly appreciate all of the hard work you have done. Thank you!"
The Eleventh Grade Student of the Month for April is Kordell Parks. Kordell is the son of Mary and David Parks. His favorite subject is computer maintenance. Kordell plans to attend Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches and study computer maintenance. He enjoys playing football, running track and fixing computers. He is involved in athletics and the SAHS Gentlemen's League. When asked what he would like to say to his teachers, Kordell replied, "I would like to say thanks for the recognition and I will be sure to keep up the good work!"
The Twelfth Grade Student of the Month for April is LaJavia Nash. LaJavia is the daughter of Judy Nash. Her favorite subject is math. LaJavia plans to attend Tyler Junior College and study to become an occupational therapist assistant. She enjoys singing and praise dancing. LaJavia is involved in Interact Club and PALS. When asked what she would like to say to her teachers, LaJavia replied, "God bless you all and thanks for everything!"
