March Students of the Month! Congratulations Students!

Elementary School:

The Pre-K Student of the Month for March was Isabel Page. Isabel is the 5 year old daughter of Tonya Bennefield. She is very responsible and willing to lend a helping hand to each of her classmates. She is very smart, she knows all her letters, numbers, sounds and shapes. She even knows how to read the little books! Her teacher is so proud of her. Isabel is in Ms. Chronda Williams Pre-K class!

The Kindergarten Student of the Month for March was Eli Zager. Eli is the son of Melissa Dudley. Eli is 5 years old and will be turning 6 soon! He is an excellent student who works very hard and follows the rules, he always does what the teacher asks him to do. He is a good listener and works well on his own, or with others. He shows respect to his peers and to all the teachers. He sets a good example for the other students. Eli’s teacher is Mrs. Mary Parker and she says that she is very honored to him in her class and she knows that he will be successful in the years to come!

The 1st grade Student of the Month for March was Caleb Harden. Caleb is the son of ShaQueena Harden. He is a good worker, he gets along well with others. He enjoys playing XBOX  and watching TV, he also enjoys the outdoors playing basketball and soon will be playing baseball. Caleb's favorite subject is Math and when he grows up he wants to be a policeman. Caleb is in Mrs. Melba Pahal’s homeroom.

The 2nd grade Student of the Month for March was DeMarcus Porter, Jr. DeMarcus' favorite subject in school is Math. In his spare time he enjoys riding his bike. When he grows up he wants to be a policeman. He believes that being nice and treating others as you want to be treated is the best way to be a good friend. DeMarcus is the son of DeMarcus Sr. and Jackie Porter. He is in Tiffany Lozoya’s homeroom.

The 3rd grade Student of the Month for March was Maggie Miller. Maggie was selected for this honor by her classmates. They secretly voted and selected her for her outstanding qualities, and someone who can represent the class in a positive way. Maggie is a wonderful student  and certainly a joy to teach. Her academic work is outstanding, and is improving daily.  She is kind, bubbly, thoughtful, full of excitement every day, and helpful in any and every way. She arrives to school early every morning with a smile on her face, and a,”Good Morning Mrs. Garrett” which spreads through the room! This helps to set the pace for the day.  She is loved by her peers and definitely by her teacher, Mrs. Willie Faye Garrett.  Maggie is the daughter of Ben and Jade Miller. She has a sister, Sayde, who is in Jr. High. She attends the Cowboy Church. She participated in UIL,(ready writing, chess, and story telling this year).  She enjoys spending time with her family. Her favorite foods are her Mom's spagetti and chicken and dumplings. One of her favorite places to be is in her backyard looking at trees and nature. When she grows up she wants to attend Texas A&M University, and become a Private Investigator. Mrs. Garrett thinks she is well on her way and she knows she can do it, and will be great at it. She will make us all very proud of her!

The 4th grade Student of the Month for March was Ja’Mya Holman. Ja’Mya displays friendliness daily not only to her classmates, but her teachers as well. She treats everyone with the same care as she would her best friend…she lights up any classroom when she is in attendance!  She is always eager to give a hug and always with a smile on her face. In her spare time she enjoys riding her bike, and when she gets older, she would like to attend A&M University and would like to be a Pediatrician. Ja’Mya is the daughter of Ashley Holman. She is in Ms. Kristen Butler’s homeroom.

The 5th grade Student of the Month for March was Jessica Jacobs. This month we were asked to select someone who is friendly to others.  Jessie is the perfect fit to receive this honor!  Jessie always has a smile and has a bubbly personality.  It is truly contagious! When I asked her why it is import to be friendly to others she stated “I always remember, we should do unto others as we would have them do unto us”.  Jessie’s favorite subject is Science.  During spring break she was able to go to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico.  She said it was an awesome experience and it deepened her love for Science.  Jessie would like to be a science teacher (if her mother gives in) or a nurse.  Jessie is a huge LSU fan, but is undecided where she will attend college (of course, Mrs. Henly is pushing for Texas A&M).  Congratulations to Jessie, she is a very special young lady. Jessie is the daughter of Tammie and Scott Jacobs.

Middle School:

The 6th grade Student of the Month for March was Larry Clifton.  Larry is the grandson of Clora and Ronnie Jones.  His favorite subjects are math, art and science.  His is involved in Boys and Girls Club, 4-H, football, basketball and baseball.  Larry hopes to attend college and play football or basketball and study to become a mechanic.  He would love to be able to fix different things all over the world.

The 7th grade Student of the Month for March was Chaztyn Suell.  Chaztyn is the grandaughter of Mary Adams.  Her favorite class is athletics.  She participated in UIL Dictionary Skills, Number Sense and Impromptu speaking and is also involved in athletics and cheerleading.  Chaztyn plans to go to college after she completes high school.

The 8th grade Student of the Month for March was Benjamin Jones.  Benjamin is the son of Calvin Jones.  His favorite subject is Texas History.  He enjoys playing games and talking on his phone after school.  He attends Bethel Baptist Church. Benjamin plans to go to the Army after he completes high school.

High School:

The 9th grade Student of the Month for March was  Marshall Ellison.  Marshall is the son of Angie and Mark Pitts.  His favorite class is communications with Coach Barnes.  He is involved in Ag and band.  Marshall plans to go to college at Texas Christian University.

The 10th grade Student of the Month for March was Luis Landaverde.  Luis is the son of  Maria Elena Landaverde and Amador Landaverde.  His favorite subject is Math.  He participated in cross country.  Luis plans to go to college and study petroleum engineering.

The 11th grade Student of the Month for March was America Cabriales.  America is the daughter of Claudia and Gabriel Cabriales.  Her favorite subject is Computer Science.  She is involved in Student Council, Ladies League, UIL and Band.  America hasn't decided for sure what she wants to do after she finishes High School.  She is considering joining the military, becoming an athletic trainer, going to the police academy or working for the FBI.

The 12th grade Student of the Month for March was  Kayla Avila.  Kayla is the daughter of Rosalba Alonso.  Her favorite subject is accounting.  Kayla is involved in Student Council, Interact Club, UIL, and HS Band.  She is the Head Majorette for the Wolfpack Majorettes.  Kayla plans to attend Stephen F. Austin State University and major in interdisciplinary studies and become a teacher.
